I'm back! This may be a relief for those of you who thought I turned into jessica_ftw or sone_ftw from the last post. EXID came back "Ah Yeah" and while "Ah Yeah" a great song and comeback for them, it was both a good and bad decision.
However, "Ah Yeah" was also a bad choice because it's similar to U&D, and many people will be calling it a "bad sequel to something good." Or they will call it U&D 2.0 and mean it as an insult, netz will call them "Unoriginal" or "Played Out" or even "One-Hit Wonders." But seeing as the song is already topping charts, that just goes to show you how smart netizens are (hint: they aren't all that smart at all.) I feel that if they released this song a few years later after several comebacks people would praise it for sounding like a throw-back but at the same time, I don't really care. The song is good and the people who download music in Korea seem to think so too so who cares?
The music video is great and it has one of the best reveals ever towards the end. I like the message they're making on censorship and bannings. And in a country like Korean, where Orange Caramel MV's can get banned, this video speaks volumes on how a lot of fans feel. My favorite would be right after Solji's high-note where as the reveal comes the age on who-can-view go down. It's great and even if you're not an EXID fan, I still think that the MV is worth a watch. If you don't even care about the message in the video then watch it for the member because everyone looks great.
I give this release a 5/5. It's truly great, and I can't wait to check out the album.
